A 15-metre pool stretches across the front of these two-storey apartments, which house three bedrooms on their upper floor and a fourth bedroom plus plenty of luxurious living space on the ground floor. Watch a Technicolor Phuket sunset from the Duplexes’ sumptuous lounge areas, or from the comfort of a romantic master suite. Sliding glass doors spanning the entire front of the apartment seamlessly connect the bright interiors to the pool terrace and glorious tropical surrounds.
Naithon is quite simply one of Phuket’s most exquisite beaches. This one-kilometre stretch of near-deserted golden sand surrounded by lush parkland is just a short walk or buggy ride from the Duplexes. Spend a day relaxing and sunning on the beach, or explore the turquoise waters by snorkel or stand-up paddle. Seaside vendors and casual eateries line the beach road, while the Trisara resort, just a few kilometres south, has a range of glamorous dining options. Malaiwana is just a 20-minute drive away from Phuket Airport and is within easy reach of several of Phuket’s top sights and leisure activities, including golf, spas and yacht charters.

Layout
The Duplex residences occupy the ground and first floors of the exclusive three-storey apartment buildings at Malaiwana. The third storey houses the Penthouse residences. In each Duplex, a central staircase connect three bedrooms on the upper floor to the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, pool terrace and fourth bedroom on the ground floor. Two master suites are set at the front of the top floor for optimal views, with a guest bedroom tucked behind. Downstairs, the kitchen, living and dining areas open widely onto the pool terrace through floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. The fourth bedroom is positioned to the front of the ground floor next to the pool.

Indoor living
Relax or entertain with flair in the bright open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, with sliding glass doors that open to the pool terrace. White and grey design accents give the Duplex interiors a fresh, clean look, and contrast pleasingly with the lush tropical surrounds. In the sleek modern kitchen, set to the rear of the dining area, the chef prepares tempting treats and delicious Thai fare. Soft sofas in the living room are positioned to enjoy the views, which can also be appreciated from more comfortable seating in the open area between the upstairs bedrooms.
Outdoor living
The sea and forest views from the Duplex’s fabulous pool terrace are mesmerising. In a shaded corner is a sitting area furnished with wooden lounge chairs, while stylish black sunbeds line the pool’s end. An outdoor dining table and barbecue are poised for sunset cocktails and alfresco feasts.
Bedrooms
Master suites 1 and 2
The upper-floor master suites in the Duplex apartments boast marvellous sea views. Master Suite 1 is the larger of the two and includes a spacious walk-in dressing area, but both suites are furnished with king-size beds and soft lounge seating, and equipped with TVs. Marble bathrooms feature free-form tubs designed for long indulgent soaks, and sliding glass doors open to a private balcony overlooking the pool.
Guest bedroom 1
This generously sized upper-floor room and its sumptuous marble bathroom offer a comfortable retreat for guests of all ages. Beds can be set up as twins or a king, and the room is well-appointed with a mirrored wardrobe and desk.
Guest bedroom 2
Guests who enjoy early morning (or late night) swims will love this room, which has direct pool access. The only bedroom on the ground floor, this twin-bedded room can also serve as a plush poolside TV room. The ensuite marble bathroom, wardrobe and TV offer added comforts.

For example, just let the manager know whether you’d prefer staff to be visibly ‘front of house’, ready to attend to your every whim throughout the day, or if you’d prefer more privacy, with staff staying discreetly out of sight until you need them.

The English-speaking manager liaises with guests, and communicates their preferences to the chef and staff to ensure that everything is handled with smooth efficiency. An excellent source of local knowledge, the manager will be pleased to provide suggestions for sightseeing and dining out in Phuket, as well as assistance with tour and transport bookings.
- Chef
The skilled chef prepares breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks according to guest requirements. Meals are prepared from a suggestion menu of mainly Thai and some western dishes, tailored to accommodate special dietary needs and guest preferences.
- Housekeeping
A team of staff handles daily housekeeping duties, as well as assisting the chef with kitchen and dining service.
- Pool
Regular pool-cleaning and maintenance services are taken care of by a team of estate staff.

Dining
With its delicious mix of fragrant, spicy, sour, sweet and salty flavours, Thai cuisine is celebrated as one of the world’s best, and at the Residences at Malaiwana a full-time chef is on hand to take you on a journey of epicurean discovery.
As well as favourites such as tom yum goong (hot and sour, spicy prawn soup) and phad Thai goong yang (stir-fried rice noodle with tamarind sauce and grilled prawns), a suggestion menu offers some regional Thai specialties and introduces you to the extra fiery tastes of the South. A choice of western dishes and breakfast sets are also available, and the chef will accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions as far as possible – as well as adjusting spice levels to suit your preferences.
Meals are planned with the manager or chef in advance and grocery shopping is taken care of by the villa staff, who know their way around the markets and will source the best and freshest ingredients. Groceries are charged at cost plus a 20% handling fee and a government tax, with receipts provided by the staff.

With its incredible views and hideaway ambiance, the Duplex residences are the perfect spot for a replenishing spa treatment. Be cooled by the tropical breezes while enjoying a poolside massage, or relax in the peace and privacy of your air-conditioned bedroom while your stresses and tensions are soothed away.

The Duplex Residences at Malaiwana are perfectly set up for fabulous family holidays. They make a luxurious and relaxing base for exploring Phuket’s many water sports, leisure activities and beautiful beaches, and the 15-metre pool is bound to be a hit with adults and children alike.
Families with young children will appreciate the flexibility of bed configuration in the two guest rooms that allows couples and kids to be accommodated easily.
There’s no need to take up precious packing space with children’s equipment when holidaying at Malaiwana. Many items, including high chairs, baby cots and infant car seats, may be hired from local rental agencies – just let us know your requirements in advance. Babysitters can also be arranged if mums and dads fancy a child-free night out (extra charges apply).
The chef is open to adapt meals to your family’s needs and preferences, with even the pickiest eaters sure to be satisfied with some of the tasty choices available. More adventurous eaters will have fun trying new tastes – there are plenty of Thai dishes that appeal to children, including chicken satay skewers, khai jiao (Thai omelette) and simple stir-fried rice.
Venturing out to the lovely Naithon Beach just minutes away offers more fun and adventure for families, with a whole kilometre of sand to dig your toes into and build castles with.
